Invitation for public comment: Opioids and Chronic Pain Guideline

The Michael G. DeGroote National Pain Centre guideline group along with their guideline panel, with financial support from the Substance Use and Addictions Program (SUAP), formulated eleven evidence-based recommendations and one good practice statement for the update of the 2017 Canadian guideline on Opioids for Chronic Non-Cancer Pain. The aim of these recommendations and good practice statement is to provide evidence-based guidance for healthcare providers, patients, caregivers, policymakers, and the public.

The Centre is publicly posting a draft of their recommendations and good practice statement until February 29th to seek input prior to publication and dissemination. Comments are welcome from anyone interested in providing feedback including health care professionals, researchers, policymakers, representatives of industry and insurance companies, people with lived experience, caregivers of people with lived experience, and members of the public.
