At their January 24, 2026 meeting, the CPSS Council revoked Dr. Painter’s licence. He will not be eligible to have his licence restored until he has met conditions and two years have elapsed. Those conditions include satisfactory proof that he has taken counselling for sexual abuse, has gained insight into the matter, and has achieved a measure of rehabilitation which protects the public from the risk of future harm.
