What is Senior Life Designation?
Each year, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan celebrates its physician members who have been fully licensed to practice in Saskatchewan for forty years (or more).
New inductees to Senior Life Designation are normally honoured at Council’s Christmas (holiday) banquet (the banquet may be postponed due to the pandemic) which is held in November of each year, and receive a certificate and commemorative
plaque depicting 100 years of medicine in the province of Saskatchewan.
Senior Life Designation is for honourary purposes only. It conveys no right to practice medicine in Saskatchewan, to hold office, or to vote in Member affairs. Members, including inactive members, are still required to pay registration fees to retain their licensure status. As a result, a physician may concurrently hold a Senior Life Designation "licence" and another form of licensure.
How do I qualify?
If you have practiced in Saskatchewan for 40 consecutive years or more, or if the only interruptions in your practice were for service in the armed forces or to take postgraduate training,
